It began over twenty years ago in the back bays of Stone Harbor.  Catching and selling minnows to every tackle shop that he could see over the counter of, Bayside founder Luke Williams was captivated by the prospect of being a waterman.

"Catching and selling minnows to every tackle shop that he could see over the counter of, Bayside founder Luke Williams was captivated by the prospect of being a waterman."

As Luke grew older, he realized that the key to a successful career as a waterman came down to one thing, sustainability.  With that realization, Luke immersed himself in the most sustainable aspect of the industry, aquaculture.  After receiving a formal aquaculture education, Luke began developing the framework for a shellfish hatchery, nursery, and farm, or what is now known as Bayside Shellfish.

Sustainable

Farming Methods

At Bayside Shellfish, the marine ecosystem is not just the heart of our livelihood, it’s our home. We were raised here fishing, boating, and enjoying all that the marine environment has to offer. It is because of this that we are committed to employing sustainable farming methods that allow us to not only continue farming these tidelands but also provide future generations with the opportunities and experiences we were so fortunate to have ourselves.
